Ernesto Hofmann

Ernesto Hofmann has a Physics degree from the University of Rome.
He started with IBM in 1968 in the Scientific Calculus section.
In 1973 he became Manager of the Technical Support section of IBM's Calculus Center in Rome.
In 1978, as Senior systems player, he was IBM's chief technician for diverse data elaboration centers of some of the biggest credit and insurance institutions.

In 1981 he moved to IBM's French plant for three years in Montpellier, where IBM builds its biggest computers.
In 1986 he moved to Corbeil Essoness where IBM's micro-chip was developed.
In both of these assignments he carried out the role of liaising between clients and plant designers.
Since 1986 he has been to the States many times, where his role has allowed him to investigate today's technological evolution in information feats.
Since 1984 he has been Consulting Manager for Complex Systems.
He is the author of numerous publications on information, both technical and popular works, as well as author of various articles and reviews for the press.
